The Counseling Center Staff Promotions

Mary Irwin, Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer

The Counseling Center (TCC) would like to announce the recent promotion of several employees within the company. Today TCC announces the promotion of Mary Irwin to Senior Vice President/Chief Clinical Officer. In her new role, Mary will supervise all clinical and quality improvement activities and employees. Mary has been with The Counseling Center for 19 years, joining the agency in 1998, and holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. Mary is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) which requires both a master’s degree, plus additional post-degree clinical experience. She is also a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. Mary has served the agency in various capacities, including as Director of the Stepping Stone House Outpatient Program and program for mothers and expectant mothers. Mary believes in being an advocate for the clients, children and families, and believes it is important to get to know the clients’ story, to find ways to be helpful in their journey to recovery. Mindy Albrecht, Chief Health Information & Compliance Officer

The Counseling Center, Inc. (TCC) today announces the promotion of Mindy Albrecht to Chief Health Information and Compliance Officer. Mindy has previously worked in various capacities for the company, and most recently held the title of Director of Health Information since 2015. Mindy worked at Shawnee Mental Health, before joining The Counseling Center’s Stepping Stones House as a Case Manager Coordinator in 2007. Mindy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and an Independent Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor licensed by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board, with a BA from Shawnee State University and an M. Ed in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. Mindy is the second generation of her family to work for The Counseling Center and says, “I have been able to see the way the work at TCC changes people’s lives for many years.”  Contact Mindy at or (740) 354-8024.

Angee Tuggle, Director of Clinical Quality

The Counseling Center, Inc. (TCC) today announces the appointment of Angee Tuggle to the Director of Clinical Quality.  Angee has worked in the behavioral health field for many years, providing direct services at Shawnee Family Health Center and the Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities, prior to coming to the Counseling Center 10 years ago. Angee’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Shawnee State University, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Marshal University, plus accreditation as an LICDC-CS and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisory designation (LPCC-S) through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist Board. Kevin Blevins
Kevin Blevins, Chief Business & Development Officer

The Counseling Center, Inc. (TCC) today announces the appointment of Kevin Blevins to the Chief Business and Development Officer role.  Since joining TCC in 2010, Kevin has been instrumental in contributing to the organization’s operational team and leadership’s string of successes, including the award of Federally Qualified Health Center status for Compass Community Health, and the development and expansion of agency services with a focus on integrating behavioral health treatment with primary health care, recovery housing and employment services. With a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from Morehead State University and fifteen years of experience as a lender with hometown bank, American Savings Bank, Kevin’s new duties will include development of business partnerships and opportunities to address the growing opioid crisis and increase access to treatment. Kevin has stated he believes the mission of TCC will continue striving to make meaningful changes to improve the community and the lives of people the company serves.  Contact Kevin at or (740) 354-8002.

Rebecca Fyffe, Chief Human Resources Officer

The Counseling Center, Inc. (TCC) today announces the promotion of Rebecca Fyffe to the Chief Human Resources Officer position. Rebecca started working for TCC in 2011, and worked in various capacities inside the Human Resources department, most recently as Director of the department. She has twelve years of combined Human Resources/Finance related experience in both the nonprofit and for profit world, earning an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Morehead State University, and she is currently working toward a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of the Cumberland. Rebecca works to be a resource to each and every employee, and “to hopefully make even a small portion of their day easier, to enable them to carry out the mission of the company.” In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and traveling as often as possible. Jeff Mundhenk, Chief Facilities Officer

The Counseling Center, Inc. (TCC) today announces the appointment of Jeff Mundhenk to the Chief Facilities Officer for the agency. Jeff’s day to day duties will include all construction projects, maintenance, operational and development duties related to facilities management for The Counseling Center’s Scioto and Adams county locations and with Compass Community Health Care Center in Portsmouth. Jeff joined the agency in April of 2015, bringing a specialized certification in healthcare construction, and many years of experience as a construction site superintendent. Before joining the agency, Jeff served as Director of Facilities for Kings Daughter’s Medical Center. He is most appreciative of the opportunity to contribute to the agency’s recovery mission by being involved in offering opportunities for clients to develop workforce skills and he has helped develop a job shadowing training program connected to facilities departments. Gina Collinsworth, Chief Public Relations Officer

The Counseling Center, Inc. (TCC) today announces the appointment of Gina Collinsworth to Chief Public Relations Officer, overseeing the Community Relations and Development department for the agency. Gina’s primary duties now include internal and external communications, donation drives, fundraising events, creative strategy, and digital marketing and public relations activities. Gina joined the company in 2012, with a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Shawnee State University and a Master’s Degree in English, Professional Writing and Editing from the University of Cincinnati, and she is a founding member of the Public Relations Society of America – River Cities Chapter. Gina says, “Every day, I come to work thinking about how I can help families, and especially the children of our community, be inspired to live drug free. The mission of The Counseling Center lives on through our staff and we are all working to be a resource for our community.” Contact Gina at or (740) 351-2706.

Since 1984, The Counseling Center Inc. has served the southeastern Ohio region as a behavioral health, alcohol and addiction treatment facility. Currently, The Counseling Center serves approximately 200 clients annually, employs 264 people and operates locations in both Adams County and Scioto County.  Programs of the Counseling Center include the Stepping Stone program for addicted mothers and expectant mothers, the Marsh House for Men, the Second Chance Center, St. Lucy’s program for Women, The Loved Ones Group for families of addicted loved ones, youth prevention services, a job training program called Clean Hire, with primary health care and recovery housing through affiliated agencies and other supportive services.       Thank you for commenting. We are so happy to see success stories and share our mission with the community. Recovery is about reconnecting to the community, and we are especially glad to recognize our community leaders, churches, businesses and neighbors are learning more and more to understand addiction as a family disease and work together to solve the problem. “Recovery is not for people who need it, it’s for people who want it.”
